What are the main ingredients of fittydent Denture Adhesive?
-
Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose:
This ingredient derives from Cellulose. Cellulose is produced from trees or cotton wool. The supplier of the ingredient of fittydent adhesive is using Scandinavian fir and spruce exclusively for our ingredient as we insist on very high quality.
Polyvinylacetat (PVA):
PVA is completely inert, non allergic, does not affect the taste and can not be absorbed. Polyvinylacetate is a very common ingredient in chewing gums and registered as substance for chewing gum base in Europe as well as in the USA.

Can fittydent Denture Adhesive be used like other adhesives?
-
fittydent Denture Adhesive is a completely unique product, so users must learn how to use it properly. fittydent must be applied on a clean and completely dry denture. It has a higher viscosity than conventional adhesives because of its composition, so only a small amount is needed. One application in the morning will hold into the night. fittydent does not need to be applied as often as conventional adhesives since it is non water-soluble in water and will not wash out while eating and drinking.
-
Can a denture wearer who wears a soft lined denture use fittydent Denture Adhesive ?

An optimal bonding effect can only be achieved if fittydent Denture Adhesive is used with a hard and smooth base. Dentures with soft linings will reduce the bonding effect of fittydent Denture Adhesive.
-
How should fittydent Denture Adhesive be applied?
-

- Apply fittydent to your dentures in strips or series of dots, making sure that the adhesive is not too close to the edge of the denture.

- If you wish an even stronger bond, spread adhesive to create a thin and even layer over the entire contact area.
- For sensitive gums, a mild tingling or burning sensation may be felt occasionally. It will pass by quickly and is absolutely harmless. All ingredients of fittydent are used in food industry.
- Use fittydent cleansing tablets regularly to clean dentures effectively.
- Soft liners might reduce bonding effect.
- Store at room temperature.
- Consult your dentist regularly to ensure proper fitting dentures.
-
If fittydent Denture Adhesive is non water-soluble, how can the denture be removed?
-
fittydent consists of two main components:
The Polyvinylacetate is the adhesive. It works only on a dry surface. To keep the jaw dry, we use Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). CMC works like a sponge – it absorbs saliva. If the sponge ”is filled” with saliva and no more saliva can be absorbed, the jaw becomes wet, the Polyvinylacetate loses contact with the jaw and the denture stays in place only by suction. The user can remove the dentures. All the residues of the adhesive will remain on the dentures. No adhesive is left on the gum. The residues of the adhesive can easily be removed by using fittydent cleansing tablets.
-
The fittydent Denture Adhesive is getting dry in the tube nozzle - why?
-
fittydent Denture Adhesive may get dry in the tube nozzle if the tube stays open for a longer period of time or it the tube is not closed tightly. To avoid this problem, always close the tube tightly right after use!
-
Can the denture be removed before the saturation point is reached?
-
Normally, there is no need to remove the denture since no food particles get trapped underneath. However, in specific cases - like accidents- the denture can be removed by little force. It will be a painless procedure and will cause no negative effects, but residues might be left on the gum. These residues are not harmful and will come off by themselves after a few hours.
Under no circumstances should denture cleansers or other removal methods be used to clean the gum.
-
What happens if the denture stays in the mouth longer than one day?
-
The denture can be cleaned with a toothbrush and a toothpaste, anytime after eating, just like natural teeth. Since fittydent Denture Adhesive provides perfect adhesion, no food particles can get trapped beneath the dentures. Therefore, the denture does not need to be removed for cleaning. If shorter bonding effect is desired, simply apply less adhesive.
-
Will fittydent Denture Adhesive work if the user has a problem with excessive saliva?
-
Yes, but an increased amount of fittydent Denture Adhesive should be used in this case. The fittydent Adhesive cushions were developed for denture wearers with excessive saliva and/or very narrow/flat lower jaw.

-
